My name is Michelle, I am a graphic designer living and working in Cape Town, South Africa.
I’ve loved creating things with my hands since an early age and jewelry is one of my passions and delights. I started making rings from wood after studying jewelry and being inspired by other artists. However, I found I loved working with wood more so than I did metals. I love its ability to be carved into any shape, its warmth, the natural patterns, textures and the way that wood ages gracefully, and takes on the personality of the wearer.
Many of us remember our childhood excursions to the gemstone “Scratch Patch” in Simonstown. Hundreds and thousands of stones surrounded you – how exciting it was to hold them in your palm and see all the different colours & shapes. Gemstones, apart from the fact that they are just lovely to look at and collect, have many spiritual and healing properties, beneficial to our fast paced lives.
